Jennifer Ciardullo, BSW is motivated to empower her clients and reduce the experience of internalized stigma surrounding mental health and those who experience “big” emotions. She finds Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to be extremely effective for those wanting to regulate emotions better, and those wishing to experience joy after being deprived of it for so long. Jennifer believes that there is hope for those with intense emotions that lead to problem behaviours, and that DBT is the hope for so many people.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She has completed intensive DBT and DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) training with Behavior Tech, and is trained in other modalities including DBT for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. Jan Wozniak, MA, APPA is a multidisciplinary scholar, neurodevelopmental professional, and certified philosophical counsellor currently completing his Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. In his counselling practice, Jan uses a holistic process that is client-centred and strength-based, incorporating insight from Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, social work, and the arts. This framework ensures that Jan and his clients select accessible tools, resources, and mediums that resonate and support their individual needs. He often utilizes a DBT-informed approach to help clients address difficult questions, work through challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and make well-informed decisions that support their goals and overall well-being.
Jan serves as a Clinical Researcher and Program Engagement Co-Facilitator at the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), where he is working to improve virtual interventions and programming for Canadians with developmental disabilities and their families, including the advancement of neurodiversity-affirming mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy. Additionally, over the past five years, Jan has supported teaching, mentoring, tutoring, and student learning initiatives in various departments at Toronto Metropolitan University. Dillon Dodson, MSW believes that we are all doing the very best we can with the resources, knowledge and experience we have, and that we can always continue to learn and grow. She is grateful for the courage and willingness it takes for people to enter therapy and include her in this journey. Dillon finds that Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) offers concrete skills that can create profound shifts in our quality of life and in the challenges we face. Gerrah Wiley, MSW finds mental health to be an important aspect of our overall wellbeing that can often be overlooked when we get caught up in work, school or other areas of life. It’s important to her to create a safe space for her clients to honour their mental wellness and address the difficult aspects of their lives. Dylan is the founder and clinical director of DBT Virtual. He has several years of experience working on a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) team within an outpatient mental health hospital setting. Dylan has supported DBT program implementation in multiple mental health organizations, and provides DBT training, consultation and supervision to other therapists. He is the author of The DBT Skills Daily Journal, a DBT skills-based journal published with New Harbinger Publications. Dylan also teaches DBT courses at DBT HOUSE and mindfulness and compassion meditation courses at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
